E895 Meeting Minutes at LBNL

A) NEWS ITEMS:

        o  GR spoke with C. Tull about PDSF
        o  To do list for PDSF support submitted
        o  e895-1 is down
        o  Sergei in Seattle for 3 weeks

B) DATA PROCESSING:

        o  PDSF HPs   :   2 AGeV Au+Au
        o  PDSF SUNs  :   4 AGeV Au+Au
        o  PENTIUMs   :   6 AGeV Au+Au


C) MUSIC (JC):
        o  drift velocities for MUSIC are now available
        o  Juan is working on track matching
        o  2 A GeV data give slightly different track angles between
           different MUSIC cages - it's a puzzle
        o  phase correction in time bucket for MUSIC available
        o  2 files for Au+Be 4AGeV have been processed on the SGIs
           (about 1000 events). Quality plots show no significant difference
           between 1d and 2d hitfinder (more 'bounce' hits and slower)
        o  Makes a difference in time estimate for dst production of
           asymmetric systems:


D) DATA ANALYSIS (DB):
        o  automatic procedure to convert dsts to ntuples in place
        o  quality plots for total statistics of dsts at 4 AGeV
        o  shows some quantities as function of run number/event number

E) ACTION ITEMS:
        o  Jerry to increase statistics for Au+Be by factor of 10
        o  Review SGI again next week, before starting production.
        o  Some conclusions from E910 comparison
        o  restart effort on vertex refitting
