Minutes: E895 meeting at LBNL, 3rd February, prepared by GR GR: News Items: Some people from the group are attending the snowbird conference. QM'97 manuscript has been submitted with a revised flow excitation figure. The latter averages the results from the LBNL, UCD, and SUNY analyses. The error bars are scaled up. Jerry mentioned Penny's MUSIC tracker is working. GR and Dieter attended the E910 meeting at Livermore. E910 software (tracker & hitfinding) is crude compared with E895. However, dE/dx looks better (or is it ?). Brian has agreed to let us have one tape of 910 data so that we can process it with our software for testing purposes only. This will be a very good control and I hope our results are at least as good as E910 (otherwise !). In return we will make our findings available to E910 to enable them to decide if they are likely to benefit from further software development. Data Processing: Pentium farms are currently idle ! Sergie is at Snowbird. PDSF (SUN) 4 A GeV Au+Au central triggger with MUSIC output and latest t0 calibration files from Chris (2D v1.20,BFT v4.4) PDSF (HP) 4 A GeV Au+Be data with MUSIC output finished. Jerry has extracted the drift velocities for 2 A GeV Au+Be data, therefore we can queue it for processing on the HPs. PDSF have switched the HPs over to batch mode. This requires a new script to use the DQS system. The mass storage will move to HPSS. A new ftp script is needed. Dieter offered to help. Data Analysis: Heng is looking at the PID differences between Chris and his own module. Beam rotation angle of 1 deg does not account for the observed difference in flow. Should have some quantitative results by next week. Dieter's V0 analysis code has been converted to a tas module. Action Items: 1) Restart Pentiums 2) DQS script fro HPs 3) FTP script for mass storage 4) Finish drift velocity determination fro Au+Be
